Smulicata - Umbrian Swiss Chard

  • 1 pound Swiss chard washed and chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic peeled and crushed (or more to taste)
  • extra virgin olive oil
  • salt


  1. In a saucepan, cover chard with water, add salt, simmer 10 minutes. 

  2. Drain and rinse under cold water, set aside

  3. In medium skillet, gently crush garlic in olive oil to soften, add chard, saute 5 minutes

  4. Sprinkle with breadcrumbs, cook on low 5 minutes

  5. Season to taste, serve
